Man Arrested For Setting Up Dinner Dates And Then Running Away Without Paying
Paul Guadalupe Gonzales, known as “the man of the free dinners” in Los Angeles, faces a maximum penalty of 13 years in prison.
Paulo Guadalupe Gonzales always used the same strategy: he set up a dinner date with a woman to some beautiful restaurante. He would go like a normal person, but then stood up with some excuse, left, and never came back.
Gonzales, known as “the man of the free dinners” in Los Angeles, California, did the same thing with at least eight woman who affirmed they all had to pay the tab.
Marjorie Moon told the Washington Post that Gonzales, 45, was a “cool guy”. She met him through the dating app Plenty of Fish and they quickly exchanged pictures of their kids and their good taste in food.
They went on a date in 2016. The guy ordered two starters, a chicken dish and four lobster tails, an expensive wine and a souffle for dessert. The dinner cost 250 usd dollars that Moon had to pay after finding out that her date left.
Gonzales was arrested this week. He’s facing 10 felony charges for his actions between may 2016 and april 2018.
He’s facing up to 10 years in prison.
