Harambe’s Grandmother, Josephine, Has Passed Away At Miami Zoo
She was almost 50 and she was known for being the grandmother of the famous gorilla, Harambe.
Miami.- Miami Zoo is in mourning. The gorilla Josephine died this Wednesday after having several health problems that couldn’t be treated. She was almost 50 years old and above all known by being the grandmother of the gorilla Harambe, who triggered an international controversy after a carer of the Cincinnati Zoo shot him dead to protect a child that felt into his enclosure.
According to several sources, the staff of the Miami zoo took the decision of euthanizing Josephine after the last tests showed abnormalities.
Josephine was born on 1967 and arrived to the Miami Zoo in March of 1983.
After Josephine’s death, the only gorilla at Miami Zoo will be Fredrika, 42, which will be transferred to another institution.
