African Health Minister Complains That Condoms Made In China Are “Too Small”
A Chinese condom company is considering manufacturing different sized condoms after an African health minister complained that China’s products were “too small” for Zimbabwean men.
The problem was identified by the Government and local health authorities, and the African’s health minister, David Parirenyatwa, has made a public announcement that China – one of the main suppliers of condoms for Zimbabwe – will have to produce bigger condoms.
David Parirenyatwa points out that this is a “major concern”, mainly because it’s about the control of sexually transmitted diseases.
“Young people have a favorite condom, but we do not manufacture it. We import contraceptives from China. And men complain that it is extremely small”, lamented the minister.
Zimbabwe has 1.3 million people infected with the AIDS virus, according to official reports.
